#artwalk

30Jun09

Twitter has an #artwalk the last Tuesday of the month thanks to @KimSherrell. So, I’ll upload one of my first and favorites here for you, Redhead #37. Feel free to browse the rest.
Redhead #37

Juried exhibition is happening at the ArtHouse Lounge; extended deadline May 3rd; entries from all 50 states encouraged, if that’s your speed.  Me, I’m not going to pay out money for fees anymore…just need to set up my own gallery or some other sensible, inexpensive strategy.

YEAR OF THE OX

27Jan09

oxBest wishes for happiness, health and prosperity in the upcoming year.

Out of order and from past years, as promised. Colors represent elements. Enjoy.

WHAT NOW

10Jan09

First anniversary of the Arthouse Lounge in Harrisburg and I’m off to celebrate Jason Piper’s neat little gallery and retrieve my art.

Then, my next project will be art for the Chinese New Year. This year’s animal is the ox so I will be looking up Zen Buddhist classic Ox Herding pictures, deciding on a medium and spending a week or two rebooting artistically.

I’ll post pictures here from previous years over the week, started where I started: the Water Horse.

ART EXCITEMENT

04Dec08

You can still see my art in person.  Read about it here.

Later, thoughts on Lucien Freud and William Butler Yeats brother that I’ve been meaning to get to — ugly, compelling, unforgettable…art that grabs and lingers.

THE BIO

09Oct08

Here it is.

Michelle Denise Norton really doesn’t like bios or artist statements as she prefers getting to know people over tea.  Coming to Central Pennsylvania via Chicago and the Jersey Shore, Michelle has made a creative home here.  Inspired by Chinese Brush painting, the Impressionists and her exploration of other arts, Michelle is working on getting recognition for a new style of visual art, Kinaesthetic, where the intensity and dexterity of the physical process matters as much as the medium.  She alternates between acrylics and pastels — occasionally adding in watercolor, finding the medium and color that suits the mood and subject.  Michelle has exhibited here and in Canada.  She is also active in the local theatre scene and is the president of Lonely Pond Productions, Inc., a creative movie making collaboration that allows her to combine her artistic and storytelling skills.
