Or as it is more properly known, the Year of The Metal Rabbit. May it bring you happiness, prosperity, health, fun and maybe some fast but safe wheels. I had some fun merging the thought of rabbits with the thought of cars and motorcycles, although the rabbit I’m going to frame as this year’s representative is a little more traditional, but I really like how it looks like it’s bouncing.

ART AUCTION

Donated a piece to this year’s Harrisburg’s Habitat For Humanity Auction. It’s an abstract landscape I painted after my first Habitat For Humanity auction, when I was frustrated by popularity of landscapes and the lack of interest in anything abstract.

So I went home and painted my reaction to the traditional landscape. There’s a lot of energy in it, as you can see from the detail. I’m hoping it gets a bid from someone who will appreciate its force. I was driving home along the Susquehanna and you can see the flow and surge of the river in it. When I participated in gallery walks, it would always turn a few heads. The dark colors, darker mood and broad knife strokes draw you into the storm.
